- Prom 2006
Philipp Wodak graduated from SGS in 2006 and currently serves as Secretary General of the New Liberalism Party. From an early age, Philipp stood out for being an advocate for justice and the rights of the less fortunate; this led him to study law at the Universidad del Rosario and ensures that since his profession as a lawyer he has had the opportunity to serve in positions where he advocates for the collective benefit, always in search of a just Colombia.
He says he loves what he does and assures that despite the challenges facing politics in Colombia, he sees his role as an opportunity to make a difference, as do many good-hearted people who fight every day "to make Colombia a country with fewer inequities and inequalities. It is a tireless and demanding but very rewarding job".
He currently serves as secretary general of the New Liberalism Party, a political organization that was reborn in 2021 after a five-year legal struggle in different instances such as the National Electoral Council, the Council of State and the Constitutional Court. It was precisely Philipp who led the strategy to achieve this goal, which represents an important milestone in the political history of the country.
Philipp recently received the "La Paz Total" award from the National Press Federation (FENALPRENSA), which groups all independent media in the country. This recognition highlights Philipp's struggle for democracy in Colombia.
Finally, Philipp reflects on his education and fondly recalls his time at school: "The school provided all the foundations for who I am today, the values and principles it teaches, in addition to the academic aspects, allowed me to develop my professional career. What I miss most is the staff, the "señitos", who were always there to support us and help us when we needed it. Also, the environment and the facilities; in a city like Bogota, school is a very nice place to grow and enjoy the day to day".
Philipp is a living example of passion, commitment and struggle for a better future in Colombia. We congratulate him for the recognition he received with the "La Paz Total" award in tribute to his tireless efforts for democracy and justice in the country.
