SGS 2025 Symphonic Encounter brings together more than 450 young musicians

The Symphonic Concert will take place next Thursday, 20th March, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This event will establish Saint George's School as a major venue for school concerts in Bogotá. This festival, organized by the School 's Music Department was originally known as the Encuentro Sinfónico UNCOLI.

The event will bring together more than 500 musicians from various schools and will take place in the coliseum of the Schoo. In addition, the music teachers Ricardo Jaramillo, Carlos Pinzón, Andrey Ramos Herrera and Omar Andrés Cifuentes will be assisting in the event that is not a contest but rather an opportunity for the musicians to learn and enhance their musical education.

Invited groups and participants:

This year, the Symphonic Encounter will feature two high-level guest ensembles:

- String Orchestra of the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, which will offer a side-by-side performance with the St. George's School String Orchestra.
- Orquesta Nueva Filarmonía, recognized for its musical excellence and its impact on the training of young performers.
Participating ensembles in this edition include:
- Symphony Orchestras: Los Nogales school , Gimnasio Vermont, Fundación Cigarra and St. George's School.
- Symphonic Bands: Children's Symphonic Band from Gimnasio Los Pinos and St. George's School, as well as the St. George's School Youth Symphonic Band.
- String Orchestras: San José school , Andean school and St. George's School Elementary Camerata.
The Symphonic Encounter 2025 promises to be an unforgettable day, full of talent, learning and collaboration among young musicians. The organization extends a cordial invitation to the entire educational and musical community to be part of this great celebration of school symphonic music.
